What's an AI agent, in plain English?

Every agent we build is made of three things you already have: an idea (the job you wish someone would just handle), your context (how your business actually works — your prices, your diary, your tone, your rules), and your process (the steps a good employee would follow). We assemble those into software that does the job and reports back — and we measure it on one thing: the real-world outcome.

The idea

The job you wish someone would just handle.

Your context

How your business actually works — your prices, your diary, your tone, your rules.

Your process

The steps a good employee would follow.

The outcome

Software that does the job and reports back — measured on the real-world result, not on how clever it is.

You've already met one

The “Ask Alice” button in the corner of this page is one of ours. Press it and you are talking to Alice, our agent: she says so in her first sentence, it answers questions about what we do, and it writes up the conversation for a human here to read. It is the same thing we build for other people's businesses, pointed at our own. If you would rather have the longer version, the free AI audit is ten minutes on the phone and a written summary by email.

Four kinds of agent

Nearly every job a small business wants taken off its hands is one of these four. Prices below are from-prices — the real figure is fixed in writing after the free audit.

Voice Agent

Answers your phone, takes orders and books appointments — every call, around the clock.

  • Answers calls in a natural voice, introduced honestly as your AI assistant
  • Takes orders and captures every detail — items, quantities, names spelled back to confirm
  • Books, moves and cancels appointments straight into your diary

Research Agent

Reads, compares and summarises — your numbers, your market, your suppliers — on a schedule.

  • Analyses your own data — sales, jobs, quotes — and tells you what changed, in sentences not spreadsheets
  • Market comparatives: what competitors charge, how your prices sit against them
  • Supplier and quote comparisons — the Monday-morning price check, done before you're in

From £950 +VAT setup, then from £300 +VAT a month

Marketing Agent

Creates and publishes your marketing — posts, emails, follow-ups — in your voice, on schedule.

  • Drafts and publishes social posts on a schedule you set — your photos, your voice, your news
  • Email campaigns: offers, seasonal pushes, the newsletter you keep meaning to send
  • Lead nurture: every enquiry gets a follow-up sequence instead of silence

Coding Agent

Builds the software your business is missing — a website, a booking page, an internal tool.

  • Websites that actually convert: your services, prices and booking in front of local customers
  • Booking and ordering pages connected to your diary and your phone
  • Internal tools: the job sheet, quote builder or rota that currently lives on paper

How the managed service works

Same motion as AI in a Box on the packages page: we find out what is worth doing before anyone quotes for it.

  1. The free audit

Ten minutes on the phone and a written summary by email. It costs nothing and it commits you to nothing.

  2. A written proposal, with a figure on it

One page: what the agent would do, what it needs from you, and a fixed price to build it and a fixed price to run it. No day rates, no scoping fee, nothing starts until you say so.

  3. We build it

One to three weeks for most of them. You see it working on your own jobs, and sign it off, before it goes anywhere near a customer.

  4. We look after it

Running it is our job, not yours. We watch it, tune it from what really happened that month, and tell you what it brought in.

Every monthly arrangement is cancellable with a month's notice. No minimum term, no exit fee, and anything we built for you stays yours.

When an agent isn't worth it

Plenty of the businesses we speak to do not need one. If the audit finds no genuine win — the volume is not there, the job is already a two-minute job, or what you actually need is a person — we say so, in writing, and it still costs you nothing. We would rather lose the sale than sell you an agent for a job you do twice a month.

Questions people ask first

What is an AI agent, really?
Software that does a job you would otherwise do yourself or hire someone to do: it answers the phone, does the reading, writes the post, builds the page. It is your idea of the job, plus how your business actually works, plus the steps a good employee would follow — assembled into something that runs on its own and reports back to you.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You need to be able to describe your own job. We do the building, the connecting and the fixing; you say what good looks like and approve what it does. If you can explain how you take an order, you can have an agent that takes them.
What does an AI agent cost?
From £950 +VAT to set up and from £200 +VAT a month to run, depending on which agent it is and how much it does. Those are from-prices: the real figure is fixed in writing in your proposal after the free audit, so you know what it costs before you commit to anything.
What if it goes wrong?
It is a managed service, so it is our problem rather than yours. When an agent meets something outside its brief it hands over to you with the full context instead of guessing, and we tune it every month from what really happened. If it stops earning its keep, cancel it with a month's notice — there is no minimum term.

Not sure which one — or whether you need one at all?

Start with the free audit. Ten minutes on the phone, a written summary by email, and a straight answer — including “not yet”, if that is the honest one.
